Confirmation Retreats
Faith doesn't just need to be learned, it needs to be lived.
It's more than a series of concepts out of a textbook; it's a dynamic relationship with God that will continue to grow throughout a young person’s life. Damascus Confirmation retreats exist to introduce young people to an experiential understanding of the beauty of the Catholic Church and the adventure of a life lived in relationship with God.
Like our summer camp program, this is a fun, high-adventure experience that is designed specifically to meet young people at this important stage of their lives and invite them to deeper discipleship.
The Details
Throughout the retreat, students are invited to the following decision points:
- Decide to turn away from what is holding you back from life
- Decide to make Jesus the Lord of your life
- Decide to receive the gift of new life given through the Spirit
- Decide to embrace and live the mission of the Church
The content was developed in collaboration with the Dynamic Catholic Confirmation Curriculum, Decision Point, but the retreat does not assume familiarity with any particular curriculum and can be integrated into any plan of preparation!
For Parish Groups
Each retreat can have up to 275 students at maximum capacity, which often includes students from several different parishes. A great opportunity to witness the wider Church and meet other Confirmandi!
Students are placed in consistent small groups of up to 9 students plus a missionary leader. The groups are the “unit” for the duration of the retreat including activities, meals, lodging, and discussions. Wherever possible, students from the same parish are placed together to promote stronger relationships post-retreat. Students may request a buddy to be in their group.
For Parents
If you have a student preparing for Confirmation and your parish does not have a group but you would like them to attend a Confirmation retreat, please email registration@damascus.net to learn about individual availability.
Book a Retreat
Parents: If you are not attending with a group, please choose "Register my child" and register for any session with availability. If you are attending with a parish group, first check to see if you received a different link from your group's coordinator to make sure your reservation is connected to that group.
Parishes and Group Leaders: Fill out the "Book a Group" form to request a group reservation. You can use the other button to check available dates. If you have questions, please email retreats@damascus.net or call (740) 480-1288 ext. 2.
